That AWKWARD moment.

Since Prison Break, I have never been THIS glued to any tv show, until MTV's Awkward came along. I tell you, it's a show of EPIC proportions, if you know what I mean.

Will not be telling you the story since you might have watched it on MTV. I just wanna share how I love it. I so love it! I may be old, but this just got me very hooked. To think it's for teenagers. ;)

And yes, Beau Mirchoff is so damn hot!

Incubus Live in Manila - July 28, 2011

How I became an Incubus fan? I seriously don't know. I think it all applies to us, that once you listen to a singer/band/performer and they caught your attention and eardrums, THAT'S IT. You start to become a fan.

Brandon Boyd, Ben Kenney, DJ Chris Kilmore, Michael Einziger and Jose Pasillas, collectively known as INCUBUS, has caught not just my ears, but also my heart. For almost a decade, I consider myself a fan. From Fungus Amongus to If Not Now, When?, yes, I was with them.

March 9, 2008. First time my fanaticism paid off. I was still in college, so all I could afford was a General Admission ticket for my favorite band's second concert in Manila. INCUBUS Light Grenades Pacific Rim Tour at Araneta Coliseum.

Credits to the owner of this photo

Light Grenades was released in 2006. After that, Brandon got some time to do a solo album entitled "The Wild Trapeze". And he also had published books like White Fluffy Clouds and From the Murks of the Sultry Abyss. He is also a visual artist. See some of his photos in the Hurley/Hope Art Show.

But after five years of hiatus, Incubus released their newest album "If Not Now, When?"
Released July 12, 2011 in the Philippines. Seriously, I went to the record bar on that day, took a photo of the CD, and tagged them on Twitter. And unexpectedly, their manager, the sweet Steve Rennie replied:

I couldn't believe it! It means a lot to me. I almost cried. :')

Tracks:
1. IF NOT NOW, WHEN?
2. PROMISES, PROMISES
3. FRIENDS AND LOVERS
4. THIEVES
5. ISADORE
6. THE ORIGINAL
7. DEFIANCE
8. IN THE COMPANY OF WOLVES
9. SWITCHBLADE
10. ADOLESCENTS
11. TOMORROW'S FOOD

I love the CD! It says, "I've waited all my life. If not now, when will I stand up and face the bright light? Don't hide your eyes, it's time."

After the album release is the World Tour. And the date for Manila: July 28, 2011.

Before the concert, I made sure I have an Incubus shirt. Thanks to Incubus Street Team Philippines, I found the perfect one.

And of course, it wouldn't be possible if I have no ticket. Thanks to my beloved sponsor, my boyfriend. :)

Who would have thought that I will be watching at the front section? As in VIP/Patron section?? OHMYGOD!!!!! This is a life-changing moment for me as an Incubus fan!

July 27, 2011 was their arrival here in Manila. I joined Incubus Street Team and went to the airport to welcome them and show them some love. Unfortunately, they didn't go out of the car. A hand just waved, and for all we know it's their roadie's. Ugh. Nevertheless, I gained new friends there. :)

That night I was really stoked I can barely sleep! And come July 28, I was not able to work properly. My heart's racing, and all I wanted to do was get out of the office and go to Araneta as fast as I can. Filed an undertime form, went out at 4:30pm. Arrived at Araneta at 5:30, and ohmygod the line's loooong! When we went inside, I was already at the 4th or 5th row of Patron 101 Standing.

8pm. Front Act: FRANCO.

9pm. Lights off. Cameras and phones ready. Guitars and drums started to rock the Big Dome. And alas, Brandon Boyd came out. And the crowd went bananaaaaas!

Mike was pissed with his guitar because it was out of tune. He threw it thrice, I think. But the show must go on, and I admired him more for that. They gave us the best show! THE BEST CONCERT EXPERIENCE EVER!

Manila Setlist:
1. Megalomaniac

I Miss You. In The Company of Wolves (their performance was INSAAAAAANE! and the red smoke just added 'drama' to Brandon's soulful voice) and Nice to Know You.

I was hoping they'd sing A Certain Shade of Green and Switchblade. But who am I to complain? With 20 songs from the GREATEST BAND, you could not ask for more. DAMN!!!!

I LOVE YOU INCUBUS!

July 14. Release in Philippine cinemas.

July 4. My birthday.

I'm not quite sure if I should be happy that the most momentous event in every Potterhead's life is so close to my special day. Is it the perfect gift for me? Or the worst because it's coming to an end?

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2.

It could make or break me.

A friend's Facebook status got me thinking, 'What do I love most about UST'? I think I can't enumerate all, because I love anything and everything about UST. Well, except the floods.

When I was in my senior year in high school, I took only two college entrance exams. UPCAT and USTET. I never expected to pass UPCAT. So yes, my mind's set on UST. Only UST.

And my freshman year just proved that I made the best decision of my life.

My first PE: Cheering! Supposedly, it should be softball but the Yellow Jackets have encouraged us to join cheering. And I enjoyed it! From then on, I became a huge UAAP fan. My first crush in the Senior Men's Basketball Team is Jemal Vizcarra. Haha, I remember those fangirl days. I had photos with the players. We even followed them to their dugout. Aaah!

Second semester of my first year, November 22, 2003, I met Romwald Emerson C. Ebarola. In front of the Santisimo Rosario Church. He was wearing a white shirt, school pants and the zigzag headband. He looked weird. And take note, we went to the library to talk. Library! Where silence is a must!

January 8, 2004, we officially became a couple. Ayiii. That was after a PBL game at the gym. We went to our usual tambayan, the Lovers' Lane. There's this certain bench where we  always sit. The vandalized bench. JEWEL and KARL, thanks for writing on it. Whoever you are, we do hope you're still together, just like us. ♥

Rom's a member of the UST Yellow Jackets. And I'm a proud girlfriend. That's why I support them and the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe. The back-to-back-to-back Cheerdance titles, the Pep Rallies, Cheermania. UST-SDT and USTYJ are the reasons why I became a very loyal Thomasian. They just made me so proud. Rom made me so proud.

Year 2006. UAAP Season 69. The comeback of the Growling Tigers. They defeated the Ateneo Blue Eagles. I can still remember how I cried on the last few seconds of Game 3. How I held my rosary tightly. How I prayed real hard for them to win. And our prayers were answered. Someone even said, God is a Thomasian.

In my 5 years in UST, I've witnessed the university's transformation. Colayco park, Lovers Lane and the Coop were gone. Modernized and classy buildings were erected. The UST Hospital became a separate entity. The Multi-deck parking/AMV-COA was built with the help of one of SGV's founder, Mr. Alfredo M. Velayo. There's the Tan Yan Kee Bldg, Thomas Aquinas Research Center, and the new UST gym. And of course, the Quadri fountain and monument which is yet to be unveiled.

I graduated year 2008. That was 2 years and 3 months ago. But until now I feel like a college student, where calculator is a must, and your ID is the key to everything. I miss UST. I miss my Alma Mater. I miss the days when I was walking on the university grounds at night, especially on holiday season where Christmas lights always amaze me. And now that it's 2 days away from it's 400th year, I think it's the best time to say that I AM VERY PROUD OF BEING A THOMASIAN. Imbued with unending grace.

23 days til Christmas

And I still can't feel the holiday season.

Another year without him.

For once Lord, can I celebrate Christmas with him?
Next year, please?

Thank You. :')

10.10.10 Run for Pasig River

It's the second year of Run for Pasig. This time, the runners are five times the number last year.

The 3K category alone, as what I've heard, has 60,000 participants.

So hopefully Pasig River's rehabilitation will give us better results, with huge amount of fund raised.

The downfall of this event: Not organized. Several runners didn't get their finisher's bands. And there wasn't a chance to run even for a minute, because people were walking, Had I joined a walkathon? Well, it's my first time, better luck next time.

Thank you Evecille (from Bank of the Philippine Islands) for the slots. Thanks BPI Runners!
